ORA is a TV cabinet whose carcass closes in an oval curve at both ends, finished in walnut. Vertical slats run across the entire front, and the cabinet stands on four turned solid-wood legs.

The carcass is 160 cm wide and 40 cm deep, and its top sits 58 cm above the floor — that is the height your television will stand at, so it is worth comparing with the seat height of the sofa you watch from. At 40 cm the depth is less than a typical sideboard, so the piece does not reach far into the room.

The legs are 20 cm tall. The manufacturer states that this keeps the floor underneath easy to maintain — it can be vacuumed without moving the cabinet. The cabinet weighs 38 kg, so positioning it is a two-person job.

How the doors open and what is inside

The cabinet has two compartments, each closed by a sliding door. Sliding rather than hinged means no clearance has to be left in front for a swinging leaf — a difference that counts in a narrow gap between the cabinet and the coffee table.

The carcass is melamine board, the legs are solid wood and the sliding doors are oak. So this is not a solid-timber piece throughout: the solid wood and the oak are in the legs and doors, while the carcass is board in a walnut finish.

The slats on the front are decorative rather than open — the front stays solid, so equipment stored inside is not visible through the gaps.
