The Zambelis E289 is a portable table lamp also intended for outdoor use. A flat, slightly tapered shade 12 cm across sits on a slim stem and a round base of the same diameter; the lamp stands 30 cm tall. The body is aluminium in a matt sandy black, and the shade is milky polycarbonate. No socket is needed — the lamp runs on a built-in battery.
How much light it gives and how long it runs
The built-in LED module draws 2 W and delivers 210 lm at 3000 K, a warm white close to a traditional bulb. That much light brightens the tabletop the lamp stands on — it is mood lighting for the table rather than lighting for the room.
The 2200 mAh battery lasts 10 hours at full brightness, 20 hours at 50% and 110 hours at 10%; a full charge takes about 5 hours. The LEDs are fixed in place and cannot be replaced, and the manufacturer rates their life at L70B50 30,000 h.
What is in the box and what to buy separately
A USB charging cable is included. The mains adaptor (220–240 V in, 5 V / 1 A out, code E099) is sold separately — to charge from a wall socket you need to buy it, otherwise the cable goes into any other USB port.
Touch dimming with memory
Brightness changes by touching the fitting, in three steps: 10%, 50% and 100%. The lamp remembers the last level and comes back on at the same setting, so there is no need to cycle through every step each time.
Where it can stand
IP54 protection means resistance to dust and to splashing water from any direction, and IK04 covers the small knocks that happen when the lamp is carried and set down on a surface. The manufacturer intends it for a terrace, a balcony and the garden, and for hotels and restaurants where the lamp travels between tables.
The base is 12 cm across — a figure to compare with the free space on the table it will stand on. The matt finish throws no sharp reflections, and the aluminium body and polycarbonate shade do not rust and tolerate damp outdoor air.
