XENO AP1 NERO is an outdoor wall spotlight: a cylindrical head on a knuckle joint over a round wall base 9 cm across. The body is aluminium with a matt black powder coating, and the front is closed by tempered clear glass.
Mounting and aiming
The base screws straight to the wall; the fitting stands 11 cm tall and projects 11.5 to 13.5 cm from the masonry — the difference comes from the joint, which lets the head swing so the light points down onto a door, sideways along the wall, or up onto the façade. The larger figure is the one to plan around if the light sits beside a narrow passage.
IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the fitting can go on an exposed wall with no eaves above it. It is protection class I, so an earth conductor has to be present in the box. Supply is mains, 220–240 V AC — the manufacturer specifies no separate driver.
The light it gives
The head takes one GU10 lamp of up to 28 W, and no lamp is supplied. The manufacturer recommends its own 5 W source rated 430 lm at 4000 K with Ra 90: neutral light, closer to daylight than to a yellow incandescent, and 430 lm is enough to mark an entrance or a stretch of wall rather than to light a whole terrace.
The closed cylinder emits in one direction only — wherever the head is turned. The fitting cannot be dimmed; the manufacturer lists it as non-dimmable.
Build
Matt powder coating over aluminium and tempered glass are the combination intended for outdoor conditions; the fitting weighs 0.36 kg. The manufacturer gives a 5-year warranty. The same model also comes in white (129488) and grey (129471).
