London 480WH is a Norlys outdoor wall light in the form of a classic four-sided lantern set on an upward-pointing arm. The body is cast aluminium powder-coated in white (RAL 9003), and the lantern panes are clear, UV-stabilised polycarbonate.
Size and where it fits
The light is 52 cm tall and 20.5 cm wide, and the lantern stands 33 cm out from the wall – a distance worth checking beside doors that open outwards and in narrow passages. The wall plate is 23 cm tall. Norlys also provides for mounting on the corner of a building. It is fixed through four ø5 mm holes at 25 × 140 mm spacing; the terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm² and the gland takes round cable of ø7–10.5 mm.
Light source
The lantern has an E27 socket and takes an LED lamp of up to 9 W in the A55–A60 shape – a wider decorative globe or a long candle lamp will not fit. No lamp is included. Norlys designed the fitting around the Philips Master LEDbulb 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K: the brightness of an old 60 W bulb in warm, yellowish light. The panes are clear, so the lamp is visible and shines unshielded – a model with a good-looking bulb is worth choosing.
Safety and service
It is a protection class II fitting, so it needs no earth conductor. IP54 allows mounting outdoors without a canopy, and IK07 means a housing that withstands moderate impacts. The diffuser is available as a service kit, so a damaged pane is replaced without buying a whole new light. The London series also offers the same lantern in black (480BL) and in an arm-down version (481).
