Outdoor wall light Norlys Nora 2483GB beige grey LED 15 W 2700 K up/down

Nora 2483GB is a flat, square Norlys outdoor wall light in beige grey (RAL 7006) that shines up and down at the same time. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium, and the light outlets on the top and bottom edges are closed with clear safety glass and a silicone gasket.

What light it gives

The source is two integrated LED modules with the driver inside the fitting, so there is no bulb to buy. At 15 W the light delivers 1043 lm at 2700 K according to the manufacturer – warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb. The light leaves diffused in both directions, and half of it goes upwards (ULOR 50%), so the fitting also brightens the wall above it, not just the area below.

An important detail from the product card: power is set with a switch on the driver between 10.9 and 15 W, and the factory setting is 10.9 W. The 1043 lm figure applies at 15 W, so for full brightness the electrician moves the switch during installation.

The light can be dimmed with a phase dimmer: the manufacturer lists both trailing edge (TE) and leading edge (LE), so either type of phase dimmer will do.

Size and installation

The fitting measures 13 × 13 cm and projects 5 cm from the wall. It fixes through two ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm apart, following the enclosed instructions.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow looping through to the next fitting with up to 3 × 1.5 mm², and the gland accepts round cable of ø7–10.5 mm, so a row of lights along a facade runs off one supply line. With an inrush current of 10 A/13.5 µs the manufacturer allows at most 37 fittings on a B10A circuit breaker, 60 on B16A, 62 on C10A and 102 on C16A. The fitting is protection class I, so it needs the protective earth connected.

Where it works

IP65 allows mounting outdoors without a canopy, and IK09 means high impact resistance of the housing. The manufacturer intends Nora for lighting walls and facades: by an entrance, on the wall of a house or in a row along a facade. The plain square body without ornament fits a Scandinavian style. The manufacturer gives a driver lifetime of 50 000 h.
