Outdoor wall light NORLYS Vasa 5093GR graphite LED 9.7 W 3000 K IP65 DALI-2

Vasa 5093GR is an outdoor wall light shaped like half a cylinder, with a cast aluminium body powder-coated in graphite (RAL 7016). Clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffusers close the top and bottom faces, so the light shines up and down at the same time.

How it lights

Inside are two Philips Fortimo LED modules rated 8 W in total, and the whole luminaire draws 9.7 W. The modules produce 1231 lm and 670 lm leave the luminaire. Half of that light goes up (ULOR 50%) and half goes down, so the facade gets two fans of light, above and below the fitting, while a strip by the entrance or path is lit as well.

3000 K is warm white light, with colour rendering of CRI 80. The manufacturer intends the light for walls, facades and other architectural settings. Because part of the light is aimed upwards, it is not the choice where light emitted towards the sky has to be limited.

DALI-2 control and service

The driver works in a DALI-2 system, so brightness is controlled over the DALI bus and the installation needs a DALI controller – an ordinary phase dimmer is not intended for this luminaire. Inrush current is 20 A for 200 µs, which matters when choosing the breaker for several lights on one circuit.

The LED modules and driver are replaced by a professional service; the manufacturer lists service kit ZS5093zx0010 for this model. Module lifetime is given as L80B20 over 72,000 h and L90B10 over 64,000 h, driver lifetime as 100,000 h.

Dimensions and installation

The light is 31 cm wide and 12.5 cm tall and projects 15.5 cm from the wall. It can be fixed through an intermediate plate with two 5 × 10 mm adjustment slots spaced 45 mm, or directly through two ø5 mm holes spaced 68 mm. It weighs 2.29 kg.

The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm², and further lights can be looped through with conductors up to 5 × 1.5 mm² – five cores carry the supply together with the DALI bus pair. The gland takes round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The light is protection class I and needs a protective earth; IP65 and IK08 impact resistance allow mounting on a wall without a canopy.
