Outdoor wall light Paris 1495BL black RAL 9005 LED 3000K - NORLYS

Paris 1495BL is a half-dome outdoor wall light made of hot-dip galvanised steel, powder-coated black (RAL 9005). The underside is closed by a satin, UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffuser, so the light leaves the fitting only downwards. The LED module and driver are built in, so there is no bulb to buy.

Size and wall mounting

According to the manufacturer's drawing the light is 23 cm wide and 11.5 cm high, projects 14 cm from the wall and weighs 0.79 kg. That size fits above a front door, beside a gate or over a house-number plate – Norlys names lighting buildings, fences and house numbers as typical uses.

The body is fixed through two oval 5×10 mm holes spaced 90 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 3×2.5 mm², and the cable gland seals a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The light can be looped through (up to 3×1.5 mm²), so several units along one facade can run on a single supply cable. The data sheet also states how many fit on one circuit breaker: 46 on B10, 75 on B16, 74 on C10 and 120 on C16. It is protection class I, which means it must be connected to the protective earth.

What light it gives

The luminaire draws 5.9 W and emits 628 lm – somewhat less than an old 60 W bulb (about 800 lm). At 3000 K the light is warm white, and CRI 80 is standard colour rendering. The manufacturer gives ULOR 0% and a BUG rating of B0-U1-G0: no light goes above the horizontal, so the fitting does not light up the sky or the wall above it. Dimming requires a trailing-edge (TE) phase dimmer.

Weather protection and servicing

IP43 means protection against rain falling at up to 60° from vertical, but not against water jets, so the light belongs on a facade rather than somewhere it will be hosed down. The manufacturer rates the Cree LED module at L80 102,000 h – after that time it still delivers 80% of its initial output. When the module or driver wears out, Norlys provides for replacement by a professional service and offers separate LED and driver service kits, so the whole fitting does not have to be replaced.
