PERICO is a pendant lamp with an open-woven rattan shade in a bell shape, 46.5 cm across. The weave is grey; the cable and the ceiling cup are black. A single E27 lampholder sits inside the shade and stays visible through the weave.
How big it is and where to hang it
A 46.5 cm shade keeps its proportions over a table 80–90 cm wide. Above a tabletop the lamp is usually hung so the lower edge of the shade sits 70–80 cm above the surface — the light then covers the whole top.
The manufacturer gives a total height of 250 cm, which is the full length of the lamp including the cable. Compare that figure with your own ceiling height and with how low you want the shade to hang. PERICO comes in three diameters — 42, 46.5 and 53 cm — so several can be hung side by side over a longer top.
Which bulb you need
The fitting has one light point with an E27 thread and runs on 230 V. No bulb is included, so you choose the light colour yourself — over a dining table 2700–3000 K is the usual pick, a warm, slightly yellow light.
The manufacturer states a maximum lamp power of 12 W. LED bulbs stay within that limit; a traditional 60 W incandescent or a halogen of that rating will not go in. The fitting has no driver of its own, so dimming depends on the bulb and the dimmer.
The weave and how it spreads light
The shade is woven from rattan — a natural material with a visible weave and horizontal bindings, with gaps left between the rods. Light escapes sideways through them and draws the weave pattern onto the ceiling and the walls, while it falls straight down through the open bottom of the shade.
The open construction also means the bulb is visible through the weave, so it is worth picking one whose appearance matters once it is lit. Rattan is a material for dry interiors.
