PILO-SOL 19104-16-3 Solar Garden Light, White Ball, Set of 3

PILO-SOL 19104-16-3 is a set of three solar garden lights on ground spikes. Each carries an opal white ball on a slim steel tube that ends in a black spike pushed into the soil.

How big they are and where they can go

A single light measures 38.5 cm from the top of the ball to the tip of the spike, and the spike itself is 12 cm long — pushed fully in, about 26.5 cm stays above ground. That is the height worth comparing against how tall the planting grows where the lights are meant to stand.

The ball is roughly 10 cm across, so each light takes up very little room in a bed. The spike is the only fixing — the lights go into soil, bark or gravel and cannot be screwed down onto a terrace or paving.

How much light they give

Each ball holds a built-in LED drawing 0.06 W and giving 6 lm at 3000 K — warm white with a slightly yellow cast. Six lumens is marker brightness rather than working light: the lights trace the line of a path or the edge of a bed, but they will not light the ground underfoot.

The LED is fixed in place, so the light source is not replaced — it comes with the light and lasts as long as the fitting does. The opal cover spreads the light evenly in every direction, so the whole ball glows instead of a point inside it.

Power and weather resistance

A 1.5 V solar cell powers the lights, so there is no cable and no driver to run out to them — they charge through the day and light up after dark from the battery. Each has its own switch, so it can be turned off over winter without pulling it out of the ground.

The manufacturer rates them IP44, meaning protection against splashing water from any direction — rain does them no harm, but they are not meant to be submerged in a pond. They work in protection class III on safety extra-low voltage and therefore need no earth connection. The complete set of three weighs 0.3 kg.
