The Paul Neuhaus Q-INIGO 6014-55 is an LED ceiling light made up of seven square frames in a steel-coloured finish. Their offset outlines form an elongated arrangement, with open centres that leave the ceiling visible. It is a close-to-ceiling fitting rather than a suspended shade, and there are no separate bulbs to choose before using it.
A low profile with a substantial footprint
The fitting measures 107.5 cm long, 48.8 cm wide and 6.8 cm high. Its shallow height does not mean a small ceiling footprint. Before ordering, compare both horizontal measurements with the proposed mounting position, adjacent cabinetry and the layout of the room. The elongated arrangement can also be considered for lighting above a dining table when a pendant is not wanted.
Straight lines, repeated squares and the absence of decorative drops suit modern and minimalist interiors. The steel-coloured finish can coordinate with other grey fittings, but it is the geometric frame construction, rather than colour alone, that defines the design.
Adjustable brightness and white light
A Q remote control is included for dimming and changing the colour temperature from 2700 to 5000 K. This covers warm white through to a cooler white tone. Colour temperature and brightness are different adjustments: one changes the appearance of white light, while the other changes its intensity. The light also has a memory function for settings.
The manufacturer specifies 4000 lm of effective luminaire output and 7000 lm for the light sources. When comparing ceiling lights, compare like-for-like figures rather than treating both numbers as the same output from the complete fitting.
Integrated LEDs and optional ZigBee integration
The seven LED modules are built in and non-replaceable. Total fitting power is 60 W, with connection to a 230 V, 50 Hz electrical installation. The manufacturer lists living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms and hallways as applications; adjustable general lighting also makes it relevant to bedrooms and studies.
The supplied remote can be used without expanding a smart-home installation. App control, however, requires integration into a compatible ZigBee network with an appropriate gateway. ZigBee compatibility does not mean that the fitting connects directly to any phone, so check the intended control system before purchasing additional smart-home equipment.
