ALLEGRO WUA-00492 is a small WoodMan pouffe built on a solid beech frame in the natural finish, treated with linseed oil and wax. A beige, tufted polyester-fabric cushion rests on the slatted top, and the four legs splay outwards and are tied together by side stretchers.
How big the pouffe is and where it fits
The pouffe takes up 63 × 50 cm of floor and stands 43 cm high. Compare those figures with the free space next to your sofa or between an armchair and the wall — the legs splay, so the piece is wider at floor level than at the seat.
The legs are 24 cm tall, which is the clearance left under the frame; hold that against the head of your own vacuum cleaner. The whole piece weighs 7 kg and arrives assembled, so nothing has to be screwed together after unpacking and it can be carried in one hand.
What it is like to sit on
The seat sits 43 cm above the floor, slightly lower than a typical dining chair at 44–47 cm, so the knees end up a little higher than the hips. The manufacturer counts it as one seat and states a permissible load of 130 kg.
The cushion measures 47 × 55 cm and is 13 cm thick. Deep tufting divides it into sections, which keeps the filling from gathering along the edges.
What it is made of and how to look after it
The frame is solid beech finished with linseed oil and wax. The oil soaks into the timber instead of forming an opaque coat, so the grain and figure of the beech stay visible and the wood keeps a light tone.
The cushion is upholstered in polyester fabric and filled with synthetic fibre. The cover comes off, but it is not machine washable, so stains have to be dealt with on the spot.
