CASUAL 90/22 is the shade on its own — an oval drum with no base, no lampholder and no light source. The polycotton fabric is black and a white PVC panel closes the underside. To make it light, you need the R11795 ceiling base or the R11796 pendant set; neither is supplied with the shade.

Its size and shape

Seen from above the shade is an ellipse 90 cm long and 22 cm wide, and its wall stands 22 cm high. The elongated form is meant to run along something: over a table 80–90 cm wide it covers almost its whole length, and it does not reach out to the sides the way a round shade of the same span would.

The shade weighs 0.63 kg — that is what it adds to the base or the pendant set.

What you buy alongside, and how many lamps fit

The shade has no lampholder and no flex of its own. The manufacturer's technical drawing shows two lamp positions inside the shade's outline. The manufacturer states a maximum of 23 W and does not split that figure, so it is the limit for the shade as a whole.

Colour temperature and brightness are chosen with the lamps for the base, not for the shade. The white PVC panel screens the lamps from below, so the light leaves the shade diffused rather than as visible points.

Material and variants

Black polycotton is a cotton and polyester blend — the surface stays matt with the weave visible. The manufacturer makes CASUAL 90/22 in several combinations: white polycotton, two Monaco fabrics, and black with gold or copper foil inside. This article is the black fabric with white PVC, reference R14541.
