The RENDL CONNY 15/30 is a fabric lampshade shaped as a tall cone tapering towards the top — 15 cm across at its widest and 30 cm tall. This is the shade alone: no base, no bulb.

Black outside, white inside

This version (article R14533) pairs black polycotton on the outer surface with a white PVC lining inside. That combination decides how it lights: the black fabric passes almost nothing sideways, so the fitting does not brighten the room, while the white interior reflects the flux downward into a concentrated pool on the surface below. Unlit the shade reads as a dark matt form; lit, as a bright cone of light beneath it.

If you want the opposite — a soft glow spreading sideways — the same series offers lighter versions: white polycotton (R11496), plus dove grey and petrol blue in Monaco fabric (R11590, R11579). The copper-foil (R11370) and golden-foil (R11468) variants give a warm reflection inside.

Proportions: why narrow and tall

A 15-to-30 cm ratio makes this shade distinctly slimmer than a typical table shade. The narrow base means a smaller pool of light and stronger contrast, and the tall silhouette sits well on a thin, straight base — on a squat, wide stem it would look out of proportion. The manufacturer itself advises checking that the chosen base suits the proportions of the whole fixture before buying, and recommends the CORTINA and NYC ranges for CONNY 15/30.

Fitting and light source

The shade carries a ring for an E27 lampholder and mounts on a table base. Neither the base nor the bulb is included — you are buying the shade.

Maximum lamp power is 23 W. That is a thermal limit set by the fabric and the narrow interior, and with an incandescent bulb it would be a real constraint. With LED it is none at all: 23 W of LED is over 2000 lm, far more than this lamp will ever need. In practice a 5–9 W source at 2700–3000 K is enough.
