SLV L-LINE OUT 30 FL is a low, L-shaped garden light: an anthracite aluminium body with a glowing light bar under its top edge behind a polycarbonate cover. It is 20 cm high, 30 cm long and 10 cm wide, so it stands just above the ground and lights mainly the surface beside it.

Where it goes and how it is mounted

The manufacturer intends it for gardens and along the paths and driveways of houses, hotels and restaurants. It is installed only as a fixed fitting on level ground – fixed down, not used as a portable lamp. IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so it can stand outdoors with no cover; it works from -20 to 45 °C.

Impact resistance is IK02, or 0.2 J – the housing is not meant for spots where it may be struck hard. The light weighs 2.3 kg.

Connection

The fitting has a 20 cm cable with an open end and no plug, and it is protection class I, so the earth conductor must be connected. The manufacturer calls for the joint to be made in an IP68 connection box or with a cable connector of the same rating – the matching SLV 228730 box is sold separately. The connection should be made by an electrician, and the cable must not be covered with soil.

What light it gives

The source is a built-in 11.5 W LED module. The colour is chosen at installation with a switch on the housing: 3000 K, warm white, gives 800 lm, and 4000 K, neutral white, gives 810 lm – similar to an old 60 W bulb, but kept low, on the path or lawn next to the light. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough for lighting a path.

The manufacturer quotes a life of 30,000 hours until the output falls to 70%. The LED module and the control gear may only be replaced by a professional. The L-LINE OUT series also includes a taller 50 cm version.
