TIPUANI is a single-light pendant with an overall height of 140 cm. The shade is a capsule 15 cm across and 30 cm tall: a gold metal mesh on the outside, a fluted acrylic cylinder underneath. It hangs on a thin cable from a cylindrical ceiling cup 7 cm in diameter.
Size and hanging height
The 140 cm figure is measured from the ceiling to the bottom of the fitting and includes the 15 cm ceiling cup. Under a 260 cm ceiling the lower edge of the shade therefore lands about 120 cm above the floor — a figure to compare with the spot where the pendant is to hang.
Over a dining table the bottom of the shade usually sits 70–80 cm above the top, which is roughly 145–155 cm above the floor; the full drop is too long for that and the cable has to be shortened. At 15 cm across the shade is narrow, so over a longer table TIPUANI works as one of a row rather than on its own.
How much light it gives and whether it dims
The built-in LED module draws 17 W and delivers 1451 lm at 3000 K — warm white with a slightly yellow cast. For a shade this size that is a lot of light: one pendant is enough to light the surface below it rather than merely mark it.
Light passes through the fluted acrylic and through the openings in the metal mesh, so it throws a grid pattern onto the ceiling and walls and the shade itself glows unevenly. The fitting can be dimmed, but only with an external TRIAC dimmer — it is not supplied and has to be bought along with the wiring.
Build and where it belongs
Body, mesh and ceiling cup are metal in a gold finish; the shade combines that metal with acrylic. The LED module is integrated — there is no lampholder and no bulb to change, so the whole fitting is replaced once the source is spent.
An IP20 rating restricts the pendant to dry interiors; it is not for above a bath, inside a shower or outdoors. It runs on standard 230 V.
