The VT-996 is a self-contained V-TAC emergency evacuation luminaire with an integrated 3W LED source and four interchangeable pictogram legends that mark the direction of the escape route. The housing is white plastic with a ribbed polycarbonate diffuser secured by metal wire clips.
What happens when the mains power fails
The fixture runs on a built-in LiFePO4 3.2V 1.5Ah battery that keeps the sign lit for more than 3 hours after a power cut, with a 24-hour recharge time stated by the manufacturer. The pictogram switches on instantly the moment power is lost. A green indicator and a TEST button on the housing let you check the battery's condition at any time, without waiting for a real outage.
Mounting and visibility
At 35 × 11 × 5.6 cm and rated IP65, the fixture can also be mounted outdoors without extra weather protection. Four different pictogram inserts are included, so the arrow can point left, right, straight ahead or upward to match the layout of the escape route. The manufacturer states a legibility distance of 22 metres.
Light output
The integrated 3W LED source cannot be replaced; it produces 130 lm at a cool 6400K colour temperature. A colour rendering index above Ra 80 keeps the green pictogram and white symbol clearly distinguishable even under the fixture's own emergency light.
