NORLYS Voss 1952GR outdoor LED wall light, graphite RAL 7016, up/down light, 18.9 W, 3000 K

Voss 1952GR is an outdoor wall light shaped as a sharp-edged rectangular box with a clear glass pane at the top and at the bottom. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in graphite, RAL 7016. The light shines up and down at the same time, drawing two cones of light on the wall.

How much light it gives

Four LED modules produce 2888 lm, and 1218 lm leaves the fitting at a consumption of 18.9 W. The light spreads widely, at 62° in each direction, and half of the output goes upwards – so the fitting lights the texture of the facade, not only the ground beneath it. 3000 K is warm white – softer on a brick or timber facade than neutral light – and CRI 80 renders colours correctly at an entrance and on a building wall.

The light only switches on and off and does not work with a dimmer. The LED modules and the driver are included, so there are no bulbs to buy. The manufacturer states an LED lifetime of over 102,000 hours (L80) and 50,000 hours for the driver; the module and driver are replaced by a qualified service technician, not by the user.

Dimensions and mounting

The light is 18 cm tall and 16 cm wide and projects 27 cm from the wall – compare that figure with the walkway next to it, because the box sticks out noticeably further than its front suggests. It weighs 4.57 kg and is fixed through two ø7 mm holes spaced 100 × 80 mm apart.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the fitting can be looped through with conductors up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so several lights along a facade can run from one circuit. The cable gland takes a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter.

Weather resistance

The IP54 rating means protection against dust and against water splashed from any direction, so the light can hang on an exposed facade without a canopy. The panes are safety glass, and the IK06 impact rating protects them against light knocks. Protection class I means the fitting must be connected to a protective earth conductor. A silicone gasket and an EPDM cable gland keep it sealed.
