WoodMan MEXICO Reclining Armchair, Natural Beech and Blue Upholstery WUA-00817

WoodMan MEXICO WUA-00817 is a reclining armchair with an exposed beech frame and a blue mattress. Straight wooden armrests outline the seat, while the tufted upholstery contrasts with the light wood. This particular version has a natural linseed-oil finish, rather than untreated beech or a walnut-coloured frame.

Allow space for the reclining position

The chair is 75 cm wide, and its front-to-back dimension changes from 105 to 140 cm as the backrest position changes. When placing it beside a wall or coffee table, plan around the longer configuration and leave room to walk past. Measuring only the upright footprint will not account for the space needed when the back is reclined.

The top of the backrest is 83 cm above the floor. Seat height is 45 cm and seat depth is 65 cm, useful measurements to compare with a chair you already use before choosing a reading seat for a living room, bedroom or study. The armrests are 60 cm high. The manufacturer's stated maximum load is 130 kg.

Wood frame and included mattress

The frame is solid beech. The mattress combines polyester upholstery fabric with hollow-fibre filling; it measures 65 × 140 cm and is 18 cm thick. Fabric and filling are separate parts of its construction, so the upholstery specification should not be read as the composition of the entire mattress.

The visible straight lines, open wooden sides and natural finish suit Scandinavian and modern interiors. Blue is the principal colour accent here: use this exact upholstery colour, rather than another MEXICO colourway, when coordinating nearby textiles.

Assembly and handling

Customer assembly is required. The manufacturer specifies one-person assembly and includes instructions and assembly tools, while also recommending a hammer and screwdriver. The frame and mattress arrive in two separate packages. The chair itself weighs 39.1 kg, a figure to consider when planning where to assemble and position it. The mattress is included with the chair rather than purchased separately.
