ZEN New Brown Fuso Cognac Pendant Light 1xE14

ZEN New Brown Fuso Cognac is a single pendant light with a shade of ribbed, clear glass in a cognac tone. Above the shade, two decorative glass forms are threaded onto the cable — an elongated one in brownish pink and a flattened green one — forming a vertical composition with the shade. The frame and ceiling canopy are brown.

Size and mounting

The shade is 15 cm wide, and the whole light measures 157 cm from the ceiling to the lower edge of the shade. Over a 75 cm dining table the bottom of the shade should hang 70–80 cm above the top, about 150 cm above the floor — at the light's full length that corresponds to a ceiling height of roughly 307 cm. In a lower room the drop has to be changed, and the manufacturer specifies that this is done by a qualified electrician.

The round canopy is 8 cm across and 3 cm deep, and the mounting holes are 37 mm apart. The light weighs 0.61 kg. It is a Class I fitting, so the protective earth conductor must be connected in the junction box. It has no switch of its own and is operated from the wall switch.

Bulb and light

The pendant has one E14 lampholder and takes an LED bulb of up to 10 W. No bulb is included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself: 2700 K gives warm, slightly yellowish light, 4000 K a neutral white. Because the shade is clear and ribbed, the bulb stays visible through the glass and its shape becomes part of how the whole light looks.

Whether it dims depends on the bulb fitted: you need an LED bulb marked as dimmable and a dimmer that works with it.

Where to hang it and what else the series offers

The manufacturer intends the single ZEN versions for lighting a coffee table or a smaller table. For a larger dining area or a kitchen island the same family offers three- and five-light compositions with the shades arranged in a ring. Alongside the Fuso variant the series has the Botti shade and white Sabia versions, so several lights in one style can be grouped over a longer table or in neighbouring zones.

The manufacturer describes the style as modern: a straight line of cable and geometric glass forms instead of a traditional fabric shade.
