Aldex Trevo Wall All White is a wall light made of a thin horizontal rod, 60 cm long, fixed to the wall by a round disc, with a short tube holding the light source hanging down from it. It is all metal in a matt white finish. This is the right-hand version, with the tube to the right of the disc.
Size and mounting
The light is 60 cm wide and 17 cm high and projects just 5 cm from the wall, so it stays out of the way beside a bed or in a narrow passage. According to the technical drawing the wall disc is about 8 cm across and the tube 12.5 cm long. Mounting takes two screws with wall plugs, and the manufacturer leaves the electrical connection to an electrician.
Aldex also makes a left-hand version (1104C). Hung together, the two form a mirrored pair – for example on either side of a headboard.
Which bulb fits
The tube is 3.7 cm in diameter and takes a small 35 mm GU10 bulb (GU10 mini, MR11). A standard 50 mm GU10 will not fit, so that diameter is the thing to check when buying. The manufacturer recommends an LED source. No bulb is included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself, and the light falls downward out of the tube like a small spotlight.
Where it works
Trevo is a modern, minimalist form: a line, a circle and a cylinder with no ornament, arranged – as the manufacturer puts it – on golden-ratio proportions. Aldex suggests it above a headboard in the bedroom, above a mirror or a dressing table, and it also suits hallways, living and dining rooms, as well as hotels and restaurants. The Trevo series also includes two- and three-light wall lights, pendant, floor and desk lamps, and this model comes in black and dusty blue too.
