Yabu 25 is a surface-mounted spot in the form of a black tube 4 cm across and 25.5 cm long, built from steel and lacquered aluminium with a textured finish. It throws light downwards through the open underside, from one replaceable lamp — the manufacturer describes its light as point light.
How it mounts and what the ceiling has to carry
The fitting is surface-mounted: a round base plate is screwed to the ceiling, the tube slides onto it and is locked with two hex screws in the side wall. Nothing has to be cut into the ceiling — this is a fixing onto a finished surface, plasterboard included with the right plug.
The terminal block has three contacts marked L, PE and N, so the fitting needs the protective conductor connected — an earth has to be present in the box. It runs on ordinary mains at 220–230 V, with no separate driver.
Which lamp to buy
One lamp with a GU10 base in the MR11 format goes in, up to 4 W in the LED version. No lamp is supplied, so the colour and brightness are yours to choose, and 4 W is the ceiling not to go past.
That limit, together with the phrase "point light", sets what the fitting is for: an accent over one particular place — a basin, a worktop, a picture — rather than general room lighting. Lighting a whole room takes several of them or a separate main fitting.
Where it can hang and what it pairs with
The IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction, so the fitting may work in a bathroom too, outside the zone of a direct jet. The tube stands 25.5 cm below the ceiling — a measurement to set beside the room height and beside how low its bottom edge ends up over the floor.
Yabu is a wide family of tube fittings: alongside the surface-mounted ones it runs to spotlights, pendants, a floor and a desk lamp, and track versions. That makes it possible to fit out a whole interior in one shape, choosing the mounting type room by room.
