Aros 12 light pendant black and warm brass Quintiesse

Aros is a pendant built from two parts: an open black cage in the shape of a cube and a brass star-shaped module inside it. Twelve arms radiate from a spherical hub and each ends in a lamp holder. The steel assembly hangs from a rigid rod below a square ceiling pan.

How big it is and how low it hangs

The cage measures 51 × 51 cm in plan and the fitting itself is 53.7 cm tall. That is a volume to compare with the width of the table or island underneath it — over a narrow table a cage this size takes over the view.

The drop is set during installation by combining the rods supplied: two of 30.5 cm and one of 15.2 cm. That gives a drop between 59.5 cm and 135.8 cm measured from the ceiling. The ceiling pan is 15 × 15 cm and 2 cm high. The fitting weighs 7.34 kg, so the fixing has to reach the structural ceiling or the load-bearing frame of a suspended one.

Which lamps you have to buy

The fitting takes twelve E14 lamps of up to 40 W each. The manufacturer states plainly that no lamps are supplied and that there is no integrated LED, so you choose the colour and the brightness yourself — and with every holder filled the total load is worth checking, as 40 W per holder comes to 480 W.

The fitting has no dimming circuit of its own. The manufacturer describes it as compatible with dimmable lamps, which means control needs both lamps marked as dimmable and a dimmer on the circuit. The arms point the holders in every direction, and with the sockets exposed the shape of the lamp itself is on show — a choice that stays visible in the finished room.

Build and wiring

Everything is steel: the cage in black, the module carrying the holders in a Warm Brass finish. The manufacturer intends the fitting for interiors only. It is safety class I, so the installation needs an earth conductor, and the supply is 220–240 V at 50 Hz.

The design comes from the Lisa McDennon by Hinkley line, and Quintiesse handles its distribution. The manufacturer's guarantee runs two years.
