BACAME is a round recessed wall light in aluminium, finished in matt black with a fine grain. Only the flange with its scooped aperture stays visible; the narrower cylinder holding the LED module sits behind it inside the wall.

Recessed, not surface-mounted

The fitting is not screwed onto the face of a wall — it goes into it. An opening has to be prepared first and the luminaire seated afterwards; the maker gives the fitting as 6.5 cm across and 5.5 cm deep, so the thickness and the make-up of the wall decide whether it can go where you want it.

The IP 54 rating covers dust and splashing water from any direction, which allows outdoor mounting. Supply is mains 230 V, so the cable has to reach the recess before the opening is closed up.

How much light it gives

The built-in LED module draws 3 W and delivers 170 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. That is roughly a fifth of what an old 60 W bulb gave — light to orient by rather than light to fill a space. The scoop in the flange throws it downward and forward, close to the wall, so the fitting marks the edge of a step, a line of fencing or the way past a terrace instead of lighting any of them out.

Build

The body is aluminium finished in matt black with a visible fine grain, a surface on which rain streaks show less than on smooth paint. The LED module is permanently built in and is not user-replaceable, so there is no lamp to buy for it.
