The CHICOLOAPAN LE71617 is a round recessed wall light with a black, finely grained aluminium finish. The visible flange is 6 cm across and its face is dished: two slots, top and bottom, release two narrow fans of light along the wall.
How it is installed
Behind the flange sits a narrower cylindrical body that disappears into the wall, and the supply cable leaves through its back — the fitting comes factory-terminated with a tail, so the joint to the installation belongs in a box behind the opening. The flange itself covers the edge of the hole once it is in.
The manufacturer publishes neither the cut-out diameter nor the recess depth, so both have to be taken off the body before drilling — the one thing that cannot be corrected after the recess is cut. The fitting runs on 230 V mains.
How much light it gives
The built-in LED module draws 3 W and gives 54 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. That is less than a candle on a table — this is a marker that shows the edge of a step or the line of a wall after dark, not a source to walk by. On stairs or along a low wall they are set every few tens of centimetres so the whole run reads.
The module cannot be swapped or retrofitted, so brightness and colour are fixed; on the other hand the source is included and nothing has to be bought separately.
Where it may sit
The body is aluminium, and an IP65 rating means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from a hose — so the fitting may sit in a boundary wall, in a façade, in a terrace wall or in a balcony parapet and stay there over winter. The black matt surface with its pronounced texture reflects no daylight, so by day the flange is barely noticeable against a dark background.
