This is a BAZAR BIZAR ceiling pendant fitting, a set for putting together a hanging light with one light point. It consists of a round black ceiling canopy, 250 cm of cable in a black cotton braid and a black E27 lampholder.
What is in the set and what you choose yourself
The set includes the canopy, the cable and the lampholder. Bazar Bizar describes it as a fitting to pair with a standard E27 bulb and gives a maximum lamp rating of 40 W. You choose the bulb yourself, and with it the colour and brightness of the light; for living rooms and bedrooms 2700–3000 K, a warm, slightly yellowish light, is the usual choice.
In the producer's photos the fitting hangs with just a decorative bulb and no shade. The lampholder has an outer thread with a ring, the part normally used to hold a shade that has an opening for an E27 holder.
Cable length and installation
The cable is 250 cm long, which is the figure to compare with the height of your own room. Over a dining table the lower edge of the bulb or shade usually hangs 70–80 cm above the tabletop, so under an ordinary ceiling part of the cable is shortened or tucked away above the canopy.
The canopy is fixed to the ceiling and the cable is connected to the house wiring underneath it, so you need a ceiling electrical outlet where the light is to hang. The fitting runs on 220–240 V and weighs 0.38 kg.
Materials and intended use
The cable braid is cotton, in the same black as the canopy and the lampholder. Bazar Bizar intends the fitting for indoor use only and recommends switching off the power and wiping it with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding moisture and harsh cleaners.
