Two colours, two forms

That pairing — cool purple against deep green — is what the object is actually about; the name "Violet Quartz" describes the colour of the glass, not a mineral the vase is carved from.

Recycled glass, shaped by hand

The maker produces this vase from recycled glass, by hand. The practical consequence is that no two pieces are identical. The purple runs a little warmer or a little cooler, fine air bubbles can appear in the body, and the cut of the base may vary by a fraction of a millimetre. A narrow neck, and what fits in it
