Belly Glass Pot L kitchen storage jar blue 15 cm recycled glass with cork lid BAZAR BIZAR

The Belly Glass Pot is a kitchen storage jar with a natural cork lid — not a vase and not a jug. The rounded body, 15 × 15 × 15 cm, is made of blue recycled glass, closed by a push-fit cork disc.

Cork instead of metal or plastic

That choice is one you can see and hear. Cork seals the jar closely but without a gasket and without a thread, so it opens in one movement rather than by unscrewing — on a jar you reach for daily for tea, coffee or pasta, that is a real difference. Cork is also a natural, renewable material; it does not corrode like a metal screw cap and does not smell like plastic.

Recycled glass — which is why every piece differs

The maker produces these jars by hand from recycled glass. The consequence is worth knowing before you buy: tone and texture vary from piece to piece. One will be a deeper blue, another lighter, and small bubbles or irregularities may appear in the glass. That is not a fault in the making — it is the trace of a secondary material and of hand work, and it is exactly what separates this jar from factory-identical glass.

For storing, and for looking at

The blue glass is translucent enough to show what is inside — meant for dry goods: grains, rice, tea, biscuits, nuts. At the same time the colour makes the jar decorative in its own right, so it sits as happily on an open kitchen shelf as on a dining-room sideboard. Size L is the largest of the three; the collection also includes S and M, which look well grouped together.

Care

The maker recommends mild soap and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasives and sudden temperature changes — recycled glass is more sensitive to them than tempered glass and can crack. The cork is best wiped dry.
