Bollard Light NORLYS Frigga 2154WH White 85 cm LED 4.7W 4000K DALI2 IP65

The NORLYS Frigga 2154WH is an 85 cm bollard light. The shaft is an extruded aluminium profile, rounded-square in section at 14 × 14 cm, fluted its whole height and powder-coated white. It is topped by a block of crystal glass, satin inside.

The light it gives

The luminaire delivers 335 lm at 4000 K, a neutral white. The maker calls its distribution open light and publishes a ULOR of 85% — that share goes above the horizontal. In practice the Frigga works as a glowing point in the garden that lifts the surroundings softly, rather than laying a bright patch on the paving. Lighting a path well enough to see where a foot lands is a job for a fitting shielded from above.

Ra 80 colour rendering is enough to tell planting apart by colour after dark. The LED module is built in, so there is no bulb to buy, and the maker rates it beyond 50,000 h to a fall to 70% of output.

Size and fixing

The bollard is 85 cm tall and 14 cm across both ways, and weighs 8.3 kg — heavy enough to stand steadily and to want a solid base. It fixes down through three ø9 mm holes set at 120° intervals on a ø65 mm circle.

No base is supplied. The maker offers a concreting anchor (index 205), a ground anchor (206), a concrete-foundation adapter (206S) and the 3080GA mounting adapter — one of them adds to the purchase.

DALI control and wiring

Dimming is controlled over DALI2 only. A DALI controller or gateway is therefore needed to vary the output; an ordinary phase dimmer in a wall box will not drive it, and without one the fitting runs at full output.

The terminals take five conductors up to 2.5 mm², looping included — five because the DALI bus pair has to reach the fitting alongside line, neutral and earth. The gland accepts round cable up to ø12.5 mm. The luminaire is protection class I, so the circuit has to carry an earth conductor.

Shade and resistance

The shade is crystal glass, satin inside. The maker states the glass may take on an amber tint over time, worth knowing when a row is bought over several years. IP65 means full protection against dust and water jets, while IK06 describes resistance to a 1 J impact, less than a metal-headed fitting. The cable gland is EPDM.
