Bollard light Norlys Stockholm 1420GA galvanised steel and painted wood E27 85 cm IP65

The Stockholm 1420GA is an 85 cm bollard light whose shaft is painted Scandinavian pine in a dark brown tone, while the head and the ring at the base are hot-dip galvanised steel. On top sits an opal PMMA diffuser surrounded by horizontal guard rings; the whole outline fits within 17 × 17 cm.

Which bulb and what kind of light

The bollard has an E27 socket and takes an LED lamp of up to 9 W in an A55–A60 envelope. No lamp is included and the user replaces it, so colour and brightness come from the lamp you choose — for comparison, an LED of about 800 lm is as bright as an old 60 W bulb. The opal diffuser spreads the light, so the lamp itself is not visible from outside.

The distribution is rotationally symmetrical, and the manufacturer states a ULOR of 49.8%: nearly half the flux leaves above the level of the luminaire. The bollard therefore shines evenly in every direction and marks the line of a path rather than putting all the light on the ground at its base.

Wood, steel and durability

In this version the wood is painted — within the Stockholm family Norlys sells a separate variant with impregnated wood, so it is worth checking which tone suits the setting. The metal parts carry a matt silver-grey hot-dip galvanised coating, which is not paint and so has no RAL number.

IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, and IK10 is the highest impact-resistance class. It is protection class II, so no earth conductor is needed. The diffuser is sealed with a silicone gasket, and the diffuser (06281004) and gasket (08288002) are available as spare parts.

Installation and what to buy separately

The bollard bolts down through three ø9 mm holes set at 120° on a ø65 mm circle. No foundation parts are included: the choice is the concrete-set anchor 205, the ground anchor 206, the concrete-foundation adapter 206S and the mounting adapters 3080GA and 3086, plus the separate junction box 6138. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², or up to 3 × 1.5 mm² when looping through to further bollards; the gland accepts a round cable up to ø12.5 mm. The bollard weighs 6.75 kg and ships in a 20.5 × 20.5 × 91 cm carton.

The manufacturer intends it for private grounds and public areas — paths, driveways, terraces or the approach to a hotel or restaurant.
