STAVANGER 5063 is a bollard light 95 cm tall with a 20 x 20 cm section, made of powder-coated cast aluminium in graphite RAL 7016. The diffuser is transparent, UV-stabilised polycarbonate, and a silicone gasket and nylon gland close the housing.
1179 lm at the source, 428 lm out — and that is the point of this fitting
Norlys publishes both figures, and the gap between them is not a fault but the design intent. The LED produces 1179 lm; 428 lm leaves through the optic, because the rest is deliberately held back: a bollard should light the surface below, not a passer-by's eyes and not a neighbour's windows. A luminaire efficacy of 35.1 lm/W looks modest written down — and that is what every fully shielded park fitting looks like. If you want maximum lumens per watt, this is the wrong class of product; if you want a path lit without light pollution, it is exactly the right one.
DALI2 and NightDim
The fitting has a DALI2 interface and a NightDim function. The first lets the bollard join a controlled system with light levels set centrally; the second works on its own — the fitting drops its own output in the middle of the night, with no controller and no extra wiring. On a private driveway, where nobody is going to build a DALI installation, NightDim is the feature you will actually use.
Resistance: IP65, IK08, aluminium
Dust-tightness and protection against water jets (IP65) combine here with IK08 — impact resistance to 5 J. For a bollard standing beside a path, a mower and bicycles, that matters more than the IP rating alone. The operating range is -20 to +45 °C. The aluminium casting and powder coat are covered by a 25-year anti-corrosion guarantee, alongside a five-year warranty on the product itself.
Installation needs an anchor bought separately
The fitting is secured by three ø9 mm holes spaced 120° apart on a ø145 mm circle — that is, onto an anchor or adapter, and none is included. Norlys offers several: a concreting anchor (1230), a driven ground anchor (1231), an adapter for an existing concrete foundation (1232), a mounting adapter (3087) and a connection box (7662). The choice depends on the ground, so decide it along with the bollard itself.
Wiring
Terminals accept conductors up to 5 x 4 mm², and loop-through wiring of further bollards is designed for up to 5 x 2.5 mm²; the gland takes cable 8-17 mm across. An inrush current of 12 A over 270 µs needs allowing for when protecting a longer run. Power factor PF 0.95 and THD 7% are figures typical of good outdoor electronics. At 11 kg net, a second pair of hands helps when transporting and setting it.
