Chandelier RIO 110 black LED 4000K - Thoro

RIO 110 is a chandelier built as a single ring 110 cm across, hung horizontally on thin cables. The aluminium profile is black, and the light leaves through a white diffuser band running along the inner edge of the ring. The LED module is built in and comes with the fitting.

How big the ring is and where to hang it

The ring measures 110 cm in diameter — over a table 80–90 cm wide it would span the whole width, so its natural place is a large table, a kitchen island or an open living area. Above a table the lower edge is usually set 70–80 cm over the top.

The suspension adjusts up to 150 cm, which is the maximum drop measured from the ceiling. The canopy is 24 cm across and 2.5 cm deep, and the fitting weighs 5.85 kg — in a plasterboard ceiling the fixing has to reach the supporting structure rather than the board alone.

How much light it gives and of what kind

The built-in LED module draws 47 W and delivers 5435 lm. That is roughly seven old 60 W bulbs, so RIO 110 can light a large room on its own instead of supplementing other fittings.

4000 K is neutral white light, cooler than a filament lamp and without a yellow cast. Colour rendering is Ra 98 against the 80 that is normal on the market — fabrics, wood and food under this light look almost as they do in daylight, which matters over a table and in a kitchen area. The module is integrated into the ring, so the source is not swapped like a bulb.

Wiring

The fitting is protection class I, which means an earth conductor has to be present in the ceiling box. In an older installation without earthing that is the first thing to check before buying.

The suspension cables and the supply lead are transparent and the canopy is black like the ring profile, so what shows above the ring is mainly the ceiling itself. The hanging height is set with the cables during installation.

Build and warranty

The ring is aluminium in a black finish and the luminaire is made in Poland. The manufacturer gives it a five-year warranty, longer than the statutory two years; with a non-replaceable LED module it is the warranty, rather than a change of bulb, that decides the cost of a failure.
