Copper brown NORLYS KARLSTAD 230A/CB outdoor pendant E27 IP55

NORLYS KARLSTAD 230A/CB is a copper-brown outdoor ceiling pendant suspended on a chain. Its clear polycarbonate lens leaves the E27 lamp visible, making the bulb shape part of the fitting. The luminaire is 27.5 cm in diameter, the shade is 22 cm high, and overall suspended height is 85 cm.

Copper, steel and natural patina

The body combines hot-dip galvanised steel with natural copper components and powder-coated steel. Copper will darken and develop a patina over time; this is a normal material change rather than a coating defect. Clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate protects the source without concealing its outline. A restrained decorative bulb can complement the lantern form. Clean the lens with a soft cloth and non-abrasive products to avoid clouding its transparent surface.

E27 LED up to 9 W, bulb excluded

The fitting has one user-replaceable E27 lampholder and is supplied without a light source. NORLYS permits an LED bulb of no more than 9 W on a 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz supply. Output, colour temperature, colour rendering and dimming capability consequently depend on the selected bulb and control circuit. Because the lens is clear, a very bright source may cause glare. Consider mounting height, normal viewing directions and the amount of useful light required on the terrace before choosing lumen output or a visible filament-style lamp.

IP55, electrical Class II and IK09

IP55 provides resistance to dust ingress and water jets, but not suitability for immersion or a flooded location. Electrical Class II denotes double or reinforced insulation, while IK09 states increased mechanical impact resistance. The model can serve beneath a terrace roof, in a gazebo or at a covered entrance when the location and wiring meet the manufacturer's requirements. Maintain drainage and do not seal designed openings with improvised compounds, as this can trap moisture.

Installation from a ceiling hook

KARLSTAD is designed for suspension from a ceiling hook, with the chain carrying the fitting's net weight of about 1.25 kg. Before work begins, verify the substrate capacity, clearance for the 85 cm overall height and a supply cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The terminal accepts conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm². A qualified installer should select the hook and fixings, isolate the circuit, make the connection and complete the cable-entry seal according to the NORLYS instructions and local electrical rules.
