BAHIA 10712 is a recessed fitting with a square brass frame 8,5 cm on each side. A clear glass pane closes the aperture, and two mounting springs stand out at the back, holding the fitting in the ceiling board.

The cut-out and the space above the ceiling

The hole is cut round, 7,5 cm across — the first figure to check, because the 8,5 × 8,5 cm frame covers only 1 cm of margin around it. The overall height of the fitting is 11 cm, so that much clear space has to remain above the ceiling board.

The fitting weighs 0,185 kg, and 0,23 kg with its packaging. Two springs hold it: once it is pushed into the hole they press the frame up against the ceiling from below, with no screws showing on the face.

Which lamp it needs

The fitting takes one lamp with a GU10 base rated up to 15 W, and the manufacturer permits LED lamps only — a halogen on the same base will physically go in, but it is outside the specification. The catalogue card gives the format as GU10 R50, a reflector 50 mm across.

No lamp is included. You therefore choose the colour and brightness of the light yourself, and the source is replaceable — years later you change the lamp, not the whole fitting.

Where it may be installed

The IP rating is given as IP44/20: on the room side the fitting is protected against splashing water, while IP20 applies on the ceiling-void side. The first value allows it in a bathroom outside the zone of a direct water jet.

The manufacturer intends it for indoor use only. The supply is ~220–230 V at 50/60 Hz. The box holds the fitting itself plus an instruction sheet and an installation manual.
