FERNE Nexo FNEK558 Garden Chair – Carbon Colour 446U

The FERNE Nexo FNEK558 is an armless chair with rows of elongated, rounded openings across its seat and backrest. This 446U version has a dark carbon colour and a smooth, matt finish. Carbon is the colour name, not a claim of carbon-fibre construction: FERNE specifies plastic as the material.

Check the space around your table

The chair stands 81 cm high and has a footprint of 49 × 54.5 cm. Its seat height is 46 cm, giving you a useful measurement to compare with your existing table. Allow room beyond the footprint for pulling the chair out and walking behind it. On a balcony, check the door's opening space as well; fitting the chair's outline into a plan does not necessarily leave enough room to use the whole dining area.

FNEK558 is the version without side supports for your arms, rather than the armchair or armrest chair from the same Nexo family. That distinction matters when arranging several places side by side or assessing clearance beneath a table. The manufacturer's maximum load is 110 kg.

Open surfaces and stacked storage

The perforations pass through the seat and back, allowing air to circulate and water to drain rather than collect on a closed surface. FERNE describes the plastic as resistant to changing weather conditions and specifies the collection for both indoor and outdoor spaces. The chairs can be stacked, reducing the floor area occupied by several unused seats. Stacking does not mean that the chair folds flat.

A restrained architectural pattern

Straight legs, a gently shaped back and the repeated openings give Nexo a modern, minimalist appearance. The dark carbon finish keeps the perforated pattern visible without adding a bright colour to the arrangement. Use it as seating at a terrace table, in a garden gazebo or in a dining room. Hotel and restaurant spaces also align with FERNE's stated use in private and public settings.
