Freja 1980CB Outdoor Wall Sconce, Copper, E27, NORLYS

Freja 1980CB is an outdoor wall light from the Norwegian brand Norlys in a copper bronze finish. The slim glazed steel lantern stands 36 cm tall on a footprint of just 8.5 × 8.6 cm — distinctly vertical and narrow, which is why it works either side of a front door or repeated rhythmically along a façade.

2100 K — candle colour, not bulb colour

Norlys states a colour temperature of 2100 K for this fitting. That is meaningfully below the usual "warm white" 2700 K: the light is amber, close to a candle flame or an old carbon-filament bulb. With a decorative source left visible behind the glass panels, that colour is the point — this is about atmosphere at the entrance, not about lighting a driveway.

How much light it really gives

Both numbers are worth knowing. The source itself produces 50 lm, and 41 lm leaves the luminaire — an overall efficiency of 16.4 lm/W. This is decorative and orientation lighting only: it marks the entrance and draws a warm accent on the render, but it will not replace a door light bright enough to read a house number by. Norlys also publishes a ULOR of 31%, the share of flux directed upwards — relevant wherever sky-glow limits apply.

Durability and installation

The body is painted steel sealed with an EPDM gland, and the IP44 rating protects it against rain and splashing from any direction. The fitting is protection class I, so the earth conductor must be connected. It mounts on two ø4.2 mm holes spaced 42 × 317 mm; the terminals take up to 3 × 2.5 mm² with an outer cable diameter of 7–10.5 mm. Net weight is 2.50 kg.

Other finishes

Freja 1980 also comes as 1980BL, 1980CG, 1980CS and 1980GB, so the same silhouette can be matched to joinery or flashing colour. Norlys publishes LDT and IES photometric files for the fitting — useful when a façade is designed in a calculation package.
