Freja is a slim NORLYS outdoor wall light: a narrow steel lantern measuring 8.5 × 8.6 × 36 cm in a copper patina finish, with a clear glass diffuser. It runs an E27 LED source at 2100 K.

41 lumens — this is a mood light, not a working one

This figure deserves emphasis, because it is easy to be caught out by: Freja gives 41 lumens from a source flux of 50 lm. For comparison, an ordinary 60 W incandescent gave around 700 lm. This is a decorative fitting — a marker beside a door, an accent on a façade, a rhythm repeated along a wall — not a light source for a driveway. The 2100 K colour is warmer still than a classic incandescent: an amber, candle-like tone that looks like a flame through clear glass.

31 % of the light goes upward

NORLYS quotes ULOR 31 % — almost a third of the flux leaves the fitting upwards. In practice that means Freja draws two patches on the wall, up and down, not one. Worth remembering when mounting under an eave, or where regulations limit light pollution — and also because a fitting placed right under a terrace ceiling loses part of the effect. Luminaire efficacy is 16.4 lm/W against the source's 22.7 lm/W — the difference is what the glass and housing absorb.

Steel, silicone and EPDM — built for outdoors

The body is painted steel, and sealing comes from a silicone gasket and an EPDM cable gland — the two parts that are usually the first point of failure on cheap outdoor fittings. The rating is IP44: resistance to splashing water from any direction, enough for rain and snow but not for a direct jet. The manufacturer quotes an ambient of Ta +25 °C as the reference condition for the photometric data.

Installation: exact hole dimensions

NORLYS gives the mounting pattern to the millimetre: 2 holes ø4.2 mm at 42 × 317 mm spacing. That is a dimension to mark out before drilling — with a 36 cm tall fitting the upper and lower points are far apart, so any deviation from vertical will show. The terminals take max 3 × 2.5 mm², and the gland a round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter. The fitting weighs 2.5 kg net and is protection class I, so an earth conductor must be connected. Freja also comes in black (1980BL), cement grey (1980CG), corten steel (1980CS) and beige grey (1980GB).
