HALO MOD244PL-L50BK pendant, black, LED 40 W 3000/4000 K, 103.5 x 30 cm

HALO MOD244PL-L50BK is a pendant built from six slim aluminium bars crossing at an angle to form a flat lattice measuring 103.5 × 30 cm. Everything is black — the bars, the three suspension cables and the round 18 cm canopy.

Two colour temperatures to choose from

The maker gives this fitting two colour temperatures: 3000 K at 814 lm and 4000 K at 815 lm. 3000 K is warm white, calm, good over a table in the evening; 4000 K is neutral white, more matter-of-fact and easier to work under.

There is no dimming — brightness is fixed, so the mood is set by colour rather than by level. Colour rendering is Ra 80 and the beam angle 120°, which is wide: the bars light the surface beneath them, not a point.

How much light this actually is

At 40 W drawing about 814 lm, efficacy works out at roughly 20 lm/W and the energy class is G. The light passes through silicone diffusers along the underside of the bars, and they absorb part of the output.

In practice that makes HALO a decorative, atmospheric fitting rather than the only light source in a room. Over a dining table or a kitchen island it draws a pattern of light and is enough for a meal; reading or working under it calls for additional light.

Suspension and mounting

Height adjusts between 27 and 307 cm. The lower limit matters as much as the upper one here: 27 cm means the lattice can be pulled almost to the ceiling and hung in a room of ordinary height, not only in an open void. The supply cable is 300 cm.

The canopy is 18 cm across and 4 cm high, so it covers a standard flush box. The fitting weighs 2.3 kg net. It is protection class I and therefore needs an earth conductor; it runs on 220–240 V, 50 Hz, and an IP20 rating places it in dry interiors.

Life and series

Declared module life is 50,000 hours, and the maker gives a five-year warranty. The LEDs are permanently built in and cannot be replaced.
