LAVENA GREY 601 is a pendant lamp with an open plywood shade built from bent slats arranged into a teardrop shape. The slats are grey, while the ceiling rose, the cable and the lampholder are white. Gaps between the slats let light out sideways and upwards as well as downwards.
How big the lamp is and how high to hang it
The shade is 43,5 cm across — length and width are identical, because its footprint is round. The full height including the suspension is 150 cm, and the cable is shortened during installation.
Above a dining table the lower edge of the shade normally sits 70–80 cm above the top, which under a 2,5 m ceiling means shortening the suspension by roughly half. A diameter of 43,5 cm keeps sensible proportions over a table 80–90 cm wide, and two or three can hang side by side above a longer kitchen island.
How much light it gives and which bulb to choose
The fitting takes a single E27 lampholder on 230 V and accepts a bulb of up to 60 W. No light source is supplied, so you pick the colour and brightness yourself — for a living room or dining room 2700–3000 K is the usual choice, meaning warm light with a slightly yellow cast.
The open shade does not hide the bulb, so it stays visible from the side and below; a globe bulb with a visible filament suits it. Dimming depends on the bulb and the dimmer, because the fitting has no driver of its own.
Which interior it suits
The manufacturer intends this fitting for the living room, the kitchen and the hallway, and also for hospitality interiors — anywhere a lamp hangs over one particular spot. The style is modern: the body stays simple and geometric, without ornament, and its character comes from the bent slats alone.
The grey shade and white cable sit well with pale walls and raw wood furniture.
Construction and series
The frame is made of metal and plywood, the shade entirely of plywood. The surface is matt and keeps the grain visible, so the grey does not read as flat paint.
The fitting belongs to the Lavena series. Alongside the grey 601 the manufacturer offers LAVENA NATURAL 600 and LAVENA 602 in other finishes.
