Bastia is a square surface-mounted ceiling light 30 cm along each side, with a black plastic frame and a white diffuser filling the whole face. The housing is 2.4 cm deep, so the fitting barely stands off the ceiling.

How big it is and where it fits

A 30 × 30 cm square just 2.4 cm high is the proportion of a fitting meant for low rooms — it takes no headroom the way a pendant does and casts no deep shadow across the ceiling. As a comparison at home, it covers about the area of a standard ceramic floor tile.

On the back the housing carries a full mounting plate with a central bracket that screws to the ceiling, so the fitting covers the junction box. It runs on ordinary 230 V mains from the ceiling wiring.

How much light it gives and in what colour

The built-in LED module draws 24 W and delivers 2800 lm — more than three times what an old 60 W bulb gave. That is a main-lighting figure rather than an accent one: Bastia can be the only fitting in a room instead of a supplement to another.

It runs at one of three colour temperatures: 2800 K (warm, yellowish), 4000 K (neutral white) or 6000 K (cool, close to daylight). The manufacturer states that the colour is chosen before installation — once the fitting is up it cannot be changed from a switch or a remote. The fitting is not dimmable either, so there is a single brightness level.

Which rooms the manufacturer intends it for

The manufacturer names the living room, bedroom, study, kitchen and hall. The white diffuser across the whole face spreads the light evenly, with no visible points, which matters where people look upwards — a bedroom and a passageway.

There is no light source to buy separately: the LED module is built into the fitting and there is no lampholder thread in it. The manufacturer gives a five-year warranty.
