Orbital 5361-860RC-BK-3 is a round LED ceiling light 60 cm in diameter and only 6 cm high. The housing has a sandblasted black finish, and the whole underside is taken up by a white acrylic diffuser through which the built-in LED source shines. The fitting is made of acrylic and metal alloy.
Size and where to fit it
At 6 cm high the light sits flat against the ceiling and takes very little headroom, which matters in low rooms and in attic rooms with sloping ceilings. The 60 cm diameter is the figure to compare with the width of the room or the table it will be above – in smaller rooms the smaller version from the same family will suit better.
The manufacturer intends the light for the living room, bedroom, kitchen and study. The Orbital family also includes 40 cm ceiling lights and variants with other housing colours. The black 40 cm model in the family is rated 30 W and 1800 lm, half the flux of the 60 cm version.
What light it gives
The integrated 60 W LED source is part of the fitting, so there are no bulbs to buy – the fitting has no lamp socket. A luminous flux of 3600 lm is enough for the main lighting of a whole room, not just mood lighting. The 3000 K colour temperature is a warm white, close to the light of a traditional bulb.
The diffuser spreads the light across the whole disc, so the whole disc lights up as a single bright surface. The fitting is not compatible with a dimmer and always runs at full brightness; it is supplied from a 220–240 V mains.
Style
The form is modern: a plain, flat disc without ornament, where the only contrast is the matt, sandblasted black of the housing against the white diffuser.
