Italux Velada 6-Light LED Pendant Light Gold with Amber Glass Globes PND-34381-6-HBR

Velada by Italux is a six-light pendant that pairs a gold frame with amber glass. Six glass globes hang from thin cords cut to different lengths, so instead of a flat row of light points you get a three-dimensional arrangement spread across the full 74 cm width.

Build and finish

The fitting is fixed to the ceiling with a round canopy and carried on a rigid gold tube. Crossed arms branch out at the bottom of that tube and spread the globes sideways. The frame is made of steel and aluminium in a polished gold finish, and the shades are amber-tinted glass. Because the luminaire hangs from a fixed stem rather than an adjustable suspension, its overall height is a constant 51 cm.

The light it gives

Each globe holds a built-in LED module. Together they deliver 2010 lm from 30 W at 3000 K, a warm white that brings out the honey tone of the amber glass. The tinted shades soften the glare, so the effect is mellow rather than sharp. The fitting is not dimmable, and the LEDs are integrated into the globes, so there are no bulbs to change.

Where it works

At 74 cm across, with the globes staggered over several levels, Velada looks best where it has room to breathe: over a long dining table, above a seating area in a living room, or in an open-plan kitchen with an island. Its IP20 rating limits it to dry interiors, so it is not suitable for bathrooms or damp rooms.
