An amber globe on a thin cable

Velada is a single glass globe 15 cm across, hung on a slim cable beneath a narrow gold canopy. The glass is smoked and tinted amber with a visible gradient — lighter at the top, deeper towards the bottom. The LED module enters the globe from above through a short gold spigot, so there is no lampholder or bulb inside: the module itself lights, and the glass gives the light a warm, honeyed cast.

203 lumens — this is a mood light

Worth knowing before buying: the module draws 5 W and gives 203 lm. That is roughly an LED candle — Velada will not light a room and does not replace a fitting over a table. Its job is to be a point of light: above a bar top in a row of several, beside a bed in place of a table lamp, in a hallway, or in a line over a kitchen island where other fittings provide the general light. The low efficacy (around 40 lm/W) follows directly from the tinted glass, which absorbs a large share of the output — that is the price of the amber colour.

Up to 120 cm of drop

The globe with its spigot is 20 cm tall, and the overall height reaches 120 cm — that is how much cable the manufacturer supplies. It is shortened to the length needed at installation, so the fitting works low over a worktop as well as high near the ceiling. When grouping several, plan different drops: at this small a diameter the rhythm of heights does more for a room than a row of globes on one level.

3000 K, not dimmable

The built-in LED runs at a warm 3000 K, which with amber glass gives a distinctly golden, evening tone. The fitting is not dimmable — the manufacturer states this explicitly, so it should not go on a dimmed circuit. The source is integrated and not replaceable; the life of the fitting is the life of the module.

Build and versions

The structure combines steel, aluminium and glass in a gold finish. Velada also comes in other versions: black (PND-34381-1-BK) and multi-light variants with three and four arms (PND-34381-3, PND-34381-4), so single globes can be combined with a larger fitting from the same family in one interior. IP20 means dry rooms, and the manufacturer gives a 5-year warranty.
