The Jupiter MOKA 1967 is a six-arm chandelier on a gold rod with a black central hub. Three arms end in clear glass globes and three in black spheres with a gold rim, open at the bottom. The arms, rod and canopy are gold, while the hub and metal spheres are black. The clear glass is what separates this model from its twin, MOKA 1966, which has amber shades.
Dimensions and hanging
The arms span 94 × 65 cm, a figure to compare with your table top or with the free space under the living-room ceiling. The height of the light is 47 to 69 cm and can be set within that range; over a table the bottom of the globes usually sits 70–80 cm above the top.
The chandelier weighs 2.15 kg and fixes directly to the ceiling with its round canopy. The maker intends it for indoor use only.
Which light sources and how it lights
There are six light points of two kinds: G9 lampholders inside the glass globes and GU10 lampholders inside the black spheres. You therefore need three G9 and three GU10 lamps, and none are included. The limit is 14 W per lampholder, below the wattage of typical G9 and GU10 halogen lamps, so in practice LED lamps are used.
The two kinds of point light differently. The clear globes show the lamp and spread light sideways, while the black spheres aim the GU10 light down onto the table or floor. Light colour depends on the lamps you choose: 2700–3000 K is warm, slightly yellowish light.
Style and where it fits
The maker describes MOKA as a modern design: straight, slim arms, geometric spheres and a contrast of gold and black. The chandelier is intended for hanging over a dining table and for living rooms. The frame is steel and the shades are glass.
