Three rings instead of a shade

BELEN is built from three hoops of different diameters, set at different angles on a common spindle rising to a round ceiling canopy. It is not the hoop itself that glows but an acrylic band running along its inner edge — the light therefore falls into the middle of each circle and draws three overlapping arcs across the ceiling and walls. The form is asymmetric: from different corners of a room you see a different arrangement of circles, which sets this fitting apart from the usual flat ceiling light.

Dimensions worth checking before you buy

The fitting is 45 cm wide and 35 cm deep, but its height — 21.5 cm — is unusually large for a ceiling light. This is not a fitting pressed flat against the plaster but a three-dimensional form that drops more than twenty centimetres. Under a 250 cm ceiling the lowest edge sits at roughly 228 cm, above head height even for tall people, though in a room with a sloping ceiling or a beam it is worth measuring the space first.

30 W, 2300 lumens, warm white

The source is an integrated LED module of 30 W producing 2300 lm at 3000 K, warm white. In practice that is enough general light for a room of roughly 12–15 m², or good zonal light above a sofa or coffee table in a larger space. The warm 3000 K keeps wood and textiles in a natural, comfortable tone; kitchens and studies more often call for a cooler 4000 K. The source is permanently built in — this is not a fitting in which a bulb is changed, so the life of the luminaire is the life of the module.

Aluminium and acrylic

The hoops and the canopy are aluminium in matt black, the light-emitting element acrylic. The pairing is typical of ring luminaires: aluminium carries the heat away from the diodes and keeps a slim hoop rigid, while acrylic diffuses the light evenly so no individual LEDs show along the band. Matt black does not throw back reflections the way gloss paint does, so the structure stays a graphic dark line against the ceiling.

Where it works, and what to keep in mind

IP20 places it in dry rooms: a living room, a bedroom, a hallway, a study. It is not suitable for a bathroom shower zone or for outdoors. It runs on standard 230 V, mounted at the canopy, with no separate driver to hide in the ceiling. The manufacturer does not state that it is dimmable, so anyone planning to control the brightness should confirm that before buying a dimmer.
