ANTRIM is a rechargeable floor reading lamp by Lucide: a slim white 120 cm stem on a round base, topped with a small cylindrical head. The stem and base are aluminium with a matt white spray-painted finish. It does not need a socket near the armchair, because a built-in battery powers it.
How much light it gives and how you control it
The head holds an integrated 2.2 W LED with a 140 lm output at 2700 K, a warm, slightly yellow white. The 28° beam points downwards, and the 3 cm head tilts vertically so you can aim the light at the page. That is a brightness for reading in one spot, not for lighting a whole room. The LED cannot be replaced; Lucide rates it for 100,000 hours.
A touch-sensitive area on top of the stem switches the lamp on and dims it between 10 and 100%. No wall dimmer or in-line cord switch is needed.
Battery and charging
The lamp has two 2200 mAh lithium-ion cells. At full brightness it runs for about 6 hours, and at 10% for up to 50 hours, so with a few evenings of low-level reading it needs charging only occasionally. A full charge takes about 6 hours. A flat wireless charging pad, which the lamp's base stands on, and a USB cable are included. The batteries are not user-replaceable.
Size and placement
The base is 20 cm across and 1.5 cm thick, and the whole lamp weighs 2.6 kg, so it fits beside an armchair, bed or desk and is easy to move. The 120 cm height is fixed. IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water, and protection class III follows from the low voltage the LED runs on. The slim cylindrical form without ornament suits modern interiors. The lamp is intended for the living room, bedroom, office and study, and its IP54 rating also allows the bathroom. Lucide gives a 5-year warranty on the fixture.
