CLAIRE 27883/02/30 is a wall light shaped like a rectangular lantern: an anthracite, powder-coated metal frame holds clear glass panels, and inside, on a shared bracket, sit two E27 lamp holders — one facing up, the other facing down. The manufacturer designed it for outdoor installation, and for indoor use as well.
Dimensions and wall mounting
The light is 40 cm high and 14 cm wide, and it projects 16 cm from the wall. The rectangular wall plate measures 14 × 40 cm, so it takes up the same strip of facade as the lantern itself — beside a front door, compare it with the free space next to the door frame. The fitting weighs 2.7 kg and the mounting hardware is included.
It is a class I fitting, so it is connected to wiring with a protective earth conductor. The IP54 rating means protection against dust and against water splashed from any direction, which is why the light can hang on an exterior wall without a canopy above it.
Bulbs and light
Bulbs are not included. You need two with an E27 base, each rated at no more than 15 W, and the manufacturer intends this fitting for LED light sources. Lucide recommends its amber A60 filament bulb (49042/05/62) at 2200 K, a very warm, orange-tinted light. The whole filament is visible through the clear glass, so the bulb you choose also changes how the lamp looks.
Light passes through the glass panels to the sides, upwards and downwards. The fitting is dimmable, but this needs a separately purchased dimmer and bulbs marked as dimmable; without them it is switched by an ordinary wall switch.
The CLAIRE series and spare parts
The dark frame and exposed bulbs give CLAIRE a rustic and at the same time industrial character. The manufacturer suggests it for lighting a front door, a terrace and a garden. The same series includes a single-holder version, a version with a motion and dusk sensor, and a garden bollard. Lucide sells the glass separately as a spare part, so a cracked pane does not mean replacing the whole light.
