Lucide MANAL 27896/12/29 is an anthracite outdoor wall spotlight with one integrated LED light source. Its cylindrical aluminium head has an overlapping cover that creates a distinctive line along the housing. A matt powder-coated finish and square wall base give it a geometric appearance suited to contemporary facades.

A focused beam rather than broad garden lighting

The LED consumes 13 W and provides 950 lm of warm white light at 3000 K. Its 40° beam concentrates light on a particular area instead of spreading it widely. This makes MANAL a choice for localised exterior lighting rather than the sole light source for an entire garden. Lucide specifies downward light distribution and a head that rotates horizontally.

The light source is already integrated, so there is no separate bulb or socket type to select. This version is not dimmable, and its colour temperature cannot be adjusted. It is operated through a wall switch, which is not included. There is no motion sensor, so the fitting does not automatically switch on when someone approaches.

Checking the wall space before installation

The housing measures 17.3 cm high, 9 cm wide and 13.9 cm deep. Its mounting plate measures 9 × 9 cm with a depth of 2.5 cm. Compare these dimensions with the available wall surface, cable outlet and the opening path of nearby doors or shutters. Although compact, the head projects beyond the facade and still needs clearance from moving parts.

MANAL connects to a 230 V mains supply. As a Class I fitting, it requires a protective earth connection. The installation manual calls for a qualified electrician. Lucide lists installation materials as included; the actual fixing arrangement must be suitable for the wall substrate.

Facades, terraces and balconies

The IP65 rating means protection against dust and water jets, consistent with the manufacturer's outdoor designation. Consider this wall spotlight for an exterior wall by an entrance, or a terrace or balcony wall. Plan the number and position of fittings around the focused beam and the distance to the surface being illuminated. The cylindrical body and lack of decorative ornament support modern, modernist and minimalist settings rather than the appearance of a traditional garden lantern.
