SENTINO is a round flush ceiling light with a glass shade shaped like a flattened ring, in glossy taupe – a greyish brown. The shade sits on a round matt gold base, and a brass fixing piece shows at its centre.
Dimensions and where to fit it
The light is 30 cm in diameter and only 11 cm high, 9 cm of which is the glass shade. A fitting this flat works where the ceiling is low or a pendant would get in the way – in a hallway, a corridor or a bedroom. The height is not adjustable. The base is 18 cm across and 2 cm thick, and the installation materials are included.
Bulbs and dimming
Under the shade there are three G9 holders, and no bulbs are included. The manufacturer allows a maximum of 5 W per holder, which in practice means LED bulbs – typical G9 halogens draw several tens of watts and are not suitable for this fitting. Lucide recommends its own dimmable 3.5 W G9 LED bulb at 2700 K (no. 49095/03/31), a warm, slightly yellow light.
The fitting is suitable for dimming, but it is operated from an ordinary wall switch: adjusting brightness requires dimmable bulbs and a dimmer installed in place of the switch. The glass diffuses the light in all directions, so the ceiling light lights the room evenly without a sharp pool. It is protection class I and must be connected to a protective earth.
Style and the SENTINO series
Lucide classes SENTINO as retro – the soft, rounded glass and the gold accent give it its retro character. If the shade breaks it can be bought separately as a spare part (no. 92/10125/41). The series also includes table lamps and a floor lamp with the same glass, available in orange as well.
