Mantra COLLAGE 7235 LED ceiling light gold 30 W

The COLLAGE 7235 is a ceiling light built from two overlapping discs cut into concentric arcs and set at two levels. The metal is finished in matt gold, and a white diffuser sits behind the openwork. The design is signed by Santiago Sevillano.

How big it is and how it mounts

The face measures 56 × 40 cm and the fitting projects 10.2 cm from the ceiling, so it does not lower a room and works over a table or in a low hallway. A round canopy 14 cm across sits at the centre and covers the ceiling box.

The fitting hangs on a flat bracket screwed to the ceiling at 110 and 115 mm centres; screws and wall plugs are shown in the manufacturer's assembly drawing. Protection class I means the ceiling point must carry an earth conductor. IP20 reserves it for dry indoor rooms, and it runs on 220 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz.

How much light it gives

2250 lm leave the fitting — roughly as much as three old 60 W bulbs, enough to serve as the main light in a smaller room. The LED module itself is rated at 2100 lm, and the whole fitting draws 30 W.

At 3000 K the light is warm white, warmer than daylight and calmer than 4000 K. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough for a living room or bedroom, but can fall short in a dressing room or at a mirror. The manufacturer states that the fitting is not dimmable.

Light source and build

The LED module is permanently built in and the manufacturer marks it as non-replaceable, so the life of the fitting is the life of the diodes: 30,000 operating hours and 30,000 on/off cycles. No bulb has to be bought, but after that the whole fitting is replaced.

The discs are made of aluminium and iron in shade RAL 1014, and the fitting weighs 1.64 kg. The COLLAGE family also has a three-module version of 68.5 × 40 cm and a four-module one of 63.5 × 69.5 cm, each in black and gold.
