GUINCHO 6858 is a miniature recessed downlight 5.5 cm across with an integrated LED module. The body is aluminium finished in matt sand-textured black, and the light opening sits deep inside the ring. Two sprung steel clips hold it in the ceiling.
What opening it needs and how much space above the ceiling
The manufacturer specifies a 49 mm cut-out, and the visible ring measures 55 mm — once fitted, the trim covers the hole with a small margin. The whole fitting is 85 mm tall, so at least that much clear space has to remain above the ceiling board; it will not fit a shallower service void.
Net weight is 0.213 kg, and mounting is on two sprung clips that spread against the board once the body is pushed into the hole.
How much light it gives and of what kind
The LED module draws 5 W and gives 410 lm — the output of a single accent point, not of room lighting. 3000 K is warm white, and the Ra 80 colour rendering index is an ordinary figure for technical fittings.
The beam is narrow: the manufacturer states 12 degrees. From 2.5 m away such a beam lights a patch about half a metre across, so the fitting picks out a specific spot — a worktop, a picture, a section of hallway — rather than lifting a whole room evenly. It cannot be dimmed.
Where it may be installed
The IP54 rating means dust protection and resistance to splashing water from any direction, and the manufacturer describes the whole GUINCHO range as prepared for outdoor use. That is the level at which the fitting may go into a bathroom ceiling or under an outdoor soffit.
The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth connection, and it runs on 220–240 V. The light source is built in and cannot be replaced — when it reaches the end of its life the whole fitting is changed; the manufacturer states 30,000 operating hours, 30,000 switching cycles and a five-year warranty.
